Humane Oregon celebrates the end of its first election season. After forming in May, Humane Oregon’s political action committee raised and contributed nearly $10,000 to candidates with a demonstrated willingness to stand up for animals in Oregon’s political process. Humane Oregon and its volunteers also campaigned for candidates and co-sponsored a fundraiser for Gov. John Kitzhaber. Although not all of the candidates endorsed and supported by Humane Oregon won their elections, we are happy to have supported their good fights. We also look forward to building relationships with the candidates and elected officials we did not endorse in this election cycle.
