House Bill 4040, the bad wolf bill, has been set for a hearing at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 16. We apologize for the short notice but the hearing was just set today (things happen fast in the Legislature's "short" session). The bill would "ratify" a decision to take wolves off of Oregon's list of threatened and endangered species, which we think would interfere with court review of the decision and would also set a dangerous precedent for political meddling in scientific decisions about whether a species should be listed as threatened or endangered. Please contact Committee members (in addition to your own Senator) to tell them to vote against this bill. For additional information on the bill, see this blog post. You can see the full text of the bill here. Thank you for your involvement!
