Humane Oregon is pleased to announce three new endorsements.
We endorsed two new candidates for the House of Representatives based on responses to our questionnaire (and a follow-up interview in one case) on issues including leg-hold traps, pet adoption, and using dogs to hunt cougars.
In House District 51, which includes Clackamas and areas north and east to Highway 26, we endorsed Janelle Bynum.
In House District 30, which straddles Highway 26 west of Portland between Tanasbourne and Banks, we endorsed Dan Mason.
We also endorsed a local measure, Metro Measure 26-178, which will extend a bond levy to maintain public natural areas. This will be good for animals, we think, because it will help ensure protection of wildlife habitat close to the Portland Metro area.
If you live in House District 30 or 51, or anywhere in the Portland Metro area, we encourage your vote for these candidates and the measure!
