Join us in Portland on Saturday, May 14, to help gather signatures for the Save Endangered Animals Oregon ballot measure campaign. We will meet at 10 a.m. at Proper Eats in the St. Johns neighborhood, 8638 N Lombard Avenue (look for people carrying a photo like the one above). We will have an orientation and then head out in groups for two hours of signature gathering.
Please RSVP to info@humaneoregon.org. Hope to see you there!
More Information
As part of the coalition supporting Save Endangered Animals Oregon, we are helping gather the roughly 125,000 signatures needed to put a measure before voters in November to ban trade within Oregon in the parts of endangered animals from other parts of the world (including elephants, rhinos, whales, sea turtles and several species of big cats). The idea is to combat the epidemic poaching of these animals by making it harder to buy and sell their parts. Washington and California recently passed similar measures. You can learn more about the Oregon measure here.
